Cindy Hiester, MA, LPC, NCC, HCI-CHC
“Therapist” is just a title. I’m really just like you. I became a therapist because I was once where you are now—struggling with anxiety, feeling lost, and unsure of what was wrong. Meeting my own therapist changed my life. I learned how my brain, emotions, thoughts, and behaviors intertwined to create stress, and by retraining my brain, I found relief and freedom. My mission is to offer you that same peace and freedom to live fully.
My Professional Background
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas. I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M, College Station. Before counseling, I spent 11 years as an international school teacher, living overseas with my family, which deepened my appreciation for diversity and global perspectives.
When I’m Not Counseling
I love staying active, especially outdoors, and spending quality time with my husband, adult children, and grandchildren. I also enjoy reading and traveling.
My Approach to Therapy
I focus on helping you understand how your mind works to alleviate anxiety and stress. My approach is warm, empathetic, and collaborative, guiding you toward true peace and a fuller life.
Janeva White, M.Ed., CSC, LPC-Associate, Supervised by Tiffany Derrick, LPC-S

Why I’m a Counselor
As a child, I was always curious, asking “why.” That curiosity drives my work as a counselor, helping clients uncover the origins of their challenges to create a clearer picture of their lives. After years as a classroom teacher, I transitioned to school counseling to focus on holistic student development, and now, as a therapist, I’m passionate about guiding clients toward mental and emotional wellness.
My Professional Background
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate in Texas, supervised by Tiffany A. Derrick, LPC-S. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Education and a Master of Science in Instructional Technology from the University of Central Arkansas, a Master of Education in Counselor Education from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and a Certificate in Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University.
When I’m Not Counseling
I love new experiences, whether through traveling, trying different foods, or spending time with friends and family. I’m also a sports enthusiast, with football currently at the top of my list.
My Approach to Therapy
With over a decade in education and mental health, I use a client-centered, solution-focused approach to address challenges like grief, family dynamics, relationships, trauma, anxiety, stress, and depression. I work collaboratively with you to develop a tailored plan for your wellness and growth.
Jennifer Luker, MS, LPC-Associate, Supervised by Dr. Pedro J. Blanco, PhD, LPC-S, RPT-S
Why I’m a Counselor
I became a counselor to truly listen and help people navigate life’s challenges. Inspired by my own experiences in therapy, I believe everyone deserves a safe space to be heard. Whether it’s a child struggling with big emotions or an adult facing life transitions, I’m here to support healing and growth.
My Professional Background
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate in Texas, supervised by Dr. P.J. Blanco. I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Tarleton State University and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Texas.
When I’m Not Counseling
I’m an avid reader of fiction and non-fiction, enjoy walking in my neighborhood, and love baking bread and focaccia, which I often trade for tea at my local coffee shop.
My Approach to Therapy
My approach is warm, client-centered, and attentive, creating a safe space for growth. For children, I use child-centered play therapy to help them express emotions through play, fostering empathy and self-esteem. For adults, I incorporate mindfulness and somatic exercises to address anxiety, depression, divorce, or perimenopause challenges, helping you stay present and build resilience. Sessions feel like caring conversations tailored to your needs.
Miranda Castillo, M.A. Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Graduate Student

Why I’m a Counselor
My interest in counseling began with a lifelong fascination with the human mind. From a young age, I found myself drawn to understanding the “why” behind people’s thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. That curiosity grew into a deeper sense of purpose and led me to my calling. I have always known that my life’s work needed to be meaningful and centered around helping others. Counseling allows me to combine both passion and purpose by supporting individuals as they navigate challenges, gain insight, and create lasting change. I am committed to making a difference in the lives of others, one person at a time.
My Professional Background
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas Christian University. During my undergraduate studies, I was involved in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS), Psychology Club, Best Buddies Club, and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists Club. I also participated in SONA research studies and completed training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
I am currently an active student member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and have clinical experience working with pediatric and adolescent populations through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. I also have experience working with adult clients in inpatient, outpatient, and private practice settings.
I am on course to graduate in December 2026 with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, where I am also a member of the Psi Chi International Honor Society in Psychology. Upon graduation, I will be pursuing licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas.
When I’m Not Counseling
When I’m not counseling, I enjoy spending time outdoors and staying active. You can often find me attending yoga classes, going on long walks or runs with my toy poodle, or spending time at local Fort Worth coffee shops where I usually enjoy a matcha or coffee while reading or doing research. I also value quality time with friends and appreciate opportunities to connect and recharge.
